Acando attended the inaugural Healthcare Meetings Forum 100 on November 15 at the Royal College of Physicians in London, organised by events agency Zibrant.
This event was attended by circa 100 healthcare meetings professionals from across Europe. Participants included buyers from pharmaceutical companies, events agencies and suppliers.
Presentations focused on challenges faced by the healthcare meetings sector, international and UK perspectives on managing compliance, strategic meetings management programmes (SMMPs), the use of technology to complement strategic approach to managing meetings and crisis management.
Panellists included leading meetings representatives from pharmaceutical companies AstraZeneca, Novartis, Pfizer and Takeda Europe, technology providers Arcaneo Metron and StarCite, hotel company Melia Hotels International, and insurance specialist Event Assured.
In a post-event survey, a total of 98% of respondents said that they had learned something from the event, with 99% saying that they would change something about their practice as a result.
Commenting on the event, leader of Acando’s Meetings and Events practice, Sarah Firth stated:
“An insightful Forum, greatly aided by the openness and honesty of speakers and panellists. The Forum confirms Acando’s Meetings and Events practice experience that there is pressure and urgency across the healthcare sector to implement SMMPs to support compliance, regulatory and code of practice requirements, to demonstrate corporate integrity and transparency, and to integrate procurement to achieve both compliance, improved control of spend and visibility of spend per healthcare professional across the organisation.
Acando’s Meetings and Events practice partners with organisations in the Life Sciences and other sectors to deliver efficient and effective implementation of SMMP, policy and systems through global change, programme and project management and implementation of Meetings and Events best practice.”
Acando look forward to attending the next Forum which will be announced in 2012.
